Watch hundreds of faithfuls take a bath and pray on the banks. The entire scene comes alive as a reassurance of Hindu faith and spiritualism.

Return for a walk through the cobblestone streets along the banks of "Ganga" and see the buzz around the shops opening and selling holy beads, handicrafts, etc. Return to the hotel and have a sumptuous breakfast before proceeding to Sarnath, miles from Varanasi where Buddha gave his first Sermon in 590 BC after enlightenment.  After seeing the ruins of the Buddhist monastery, visit the Museum that has a collection of Buddhist art and sculptures found at the site. Agra is home to the precious architectural creation and one of the seven wonders of the world - Taj Mahal. Other monuments in Agra speak of architectural magnificence of the 16th and early 17th centuries dominated by the Mughal Empire. The mausoleums, the fort and the palaces exemplify the most peculiar elements of Muslim architecture in design, space and landscaping.

Day 6: Agra – Jaipur: 249 Kms/150 miles – 5 hours

In the morning, visit the poignant monument of love - Taj Mahal and built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 in memory of his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. With its ‘frozen in time' appearance, you can stand in awe and wonder and let tranquility come over you. Afterwards, visit the Agra Fort, the architectural legacy left by Emperor Akbar in 1565. The marvel in red standstone reflects the fusion of Jain and Mughal architecture in structure and design layout in the Jehangir Mahal, Khas Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and Deewan-e-Am. Afterwards, drive to Jaipur. On arrival at Jaipur, check in to your hotel.

Day 7: Jaipur

After an early breakfast in the morning at the hotel, proceed to Amer Fort. Take a grand elephant ride up to the Fort, built in the 16th century by Maharaja Man Singh, who built palaces and a beautiful temple in marble dedicated to the fearsome goddess Kali. In the afternoon, tour the old walled city of Jaipur, founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II. In the afternoon enjoy tour of the walled city, which draws heavily on construction techniques of ‘Shilpa-Shastra', an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture. Visit the City Palace Museum to see the rare collection of paintings, Rajasthani armory and costumes, the astronomical wonder Jantar Mantar (observatory) built in the 1700's (A.D),  Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) and drive past Pink City. Evening visit to Chokhi Dhani, an ethnic village resort (optional); which recreates the flavour of Rajasthani folk culture. Watch children gyrate to the high-tenor folk songs in the Rajasthani tradition. Take in the pastoral atmosphere of caparisoned camel, horses and bullock carts offering joy rides and eat at the Choki-dhani theme restaurant. Come back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8: Jaipur – Delhi: 272 km / 170 miles – 5 hours by car
